The Plateless 599 GTB Involved in Street Race Stolen?
June 6, 2008 · Print This Article
Just yesterday we brought you the story of the Bugatti Veyron and the Ferrari 599 GTB racing down a UK highway. CarFront has been doing some homework, and attempting to find the identities of the drivers. There may be more to this story than the what we saw on the surface, and deeper reasoning on why the black 599 wasn’t sporting a number plate and on top of that didn’t stop when a police pursuit began.
A little over a week ago a Black Ferrari 599 GTB was reported stolen in Cote d’Azur, in Monaco. A few posts popped up on the forums over at FerrariChat.com advising fellow members to please be on the look out for the car.
The post described the car as having:
- Black exterior
- Shields
- Challenge wheels
- Yellow CCB’s
- Black alcantara daytona seats
- White stiching all over
- Alcantara covered rollbar
- White cavallinos stitched in the headrests”
Obviously we can only see so much from the one picture snapped of the car, but it seems to match. So was this someone foreseeing, the possibility of running into the police while having some fun out on the highway, so plates were removed? Or is the reasoning a bit beyond that? We’ll let you draw your own conclusions, but we will let you know any new tid bits we find out.
