McLaren MP4-25

After Ferrari showcased the F10, McLaren made an unveiling of their own with the new McLaren MP4-25 car which will be driven by world champions Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton.

Like Ferrari, McLaren struggled last season with the mandatory changes in the car design. Lewis Hamilton showed flashes of brilliance and you got to admit that he’s a much faster driver than Button but the car just wan’t working for him last season.

Among the improvements in this season’s racer is a higher-capacity fuel tank which would allow . The car also looks more striking thanks to the body regulations on aero bits.

The car will be powered by a Mercedes-Benz FO 108X 2.4 L V8 engine which can rev up to 18,000 RPM.

Ferrari F10 Formula 1

Here we go. We can now expect Formula 1 steeds to be showcased in the coming weeks. You might remember Mercedes GP unveiling their silver arrow livery on their old car just last week. Now, we’ve got Ferrari showcasing their racer for the coming season.

The car’s dubbed as the F10 following Ferrari Scuderia’s naming convention of F plus the year. The car will be in the hands of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa.

The 2010 season will surely be a test for Ferrari since they struggled big time last season, winning just one race and losing Felipe Massa to a freak accident. Many can blame F1’s shoddy car rules from last season but Ferrari doesn’t have an excuse this coming season.

It will surely be interesting to see how much better this new car compared to last season’s car. Ferrari will be seeing some tough competition in the field especially with the likes of McLaren and Mercedes with the return of Michael Schumacher.

Cristiano Ronaldo Drives a Ferrari 599

January 26, 2010

Cristiano Ronaldo Ferrari 599

This is how you ruin a Ferrari. Make it nice, shiny, fast, and red and you put the biggest cock in the history of the planet in the driver’s seat. He’s such a cock he’ll probably set off Top Gear’s cockometer with a hundred rotations.

Here’s Cristiano Ronaldo driving a Ferrari 599. For those of you who don’t know the guy, he’s just dubbed as one of the best football players around. In today’s sport, he’s bigger than Beckham. Also, he’s one of the most annoying turds to play the game.

He currently plays for Real Madrid after signing a deal that earns him €13 million a season. And since he makes that much, he can own and drive one of these babies. Mind you that he already wrecked one 599 GTB Fiorano. Maybe he’s out to wreck this one again too.

They say don’t hate the player, hate the game? Heck, I love the game. So I’d hate the player.

Brabus Mercedes-Benz GL 63 Biturbo

Brabus Mercedes Benz GL 63

So the Mercedes GL isn’t really the type of car that you plow off the road at a whim since it’s really more of a big car for the road. So what’s the point in giving the GL a massive shot of steroids.

Well, that’s just the thing with tuners especially with the likes of Brabus. Meet the Brabus Mercedes-Benz GL 63 Biturbo.

The car’s basically a GL but has an eight-cylinder engine from the ML 63 AMG with a couple of turbos added for good measure. It’s tweaked and tuned to dish out 650 hp and up to 625 lb-ft of torque. That’s in the ball park of the Ferrari Enzo. The engine is mated to a Speedshift 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox and permanent 4WD.

However, since this is a crossover we’re talking about, the Brabus GL 63 doesn’t necessarily go like the Enzo. But it’s pretty fast and pretty quick, able to go full out at 186.4 mph and a 0-62 mph sprint in 4.7 seconds.

Since Brabus doesn’t simply tweak the engine, the car also gets a bit more styling with 23-inch forged wheels (21s and 22s) come as choices, bits and pieces for the exterior and a spiffy interior styling.

Mercedes GP Livery

With teams preparing for the new season, we can all expect Formula 1 news and updates come in fast and plenty.

Here’s Mercedes GP displaying their car’s new livery for the coming season. Fans of (real) old might recognize the Silver Arrows vibe which was last seen in the 1950s when Mercedes still had its own team racing with its name.

The car you see with the colors are still last year’s Brawn car as the team is still developing their new stallion. The new car will be dubbed Mercedes MGP W01. Ross Brawn stays on as team principal even with the name change.

In the event are the two drivers for the next season – seven-time champion and comeback kid Michael Schumacher and fellow German Nico Rosberg. Last thing we heard is that Rosberg and Schumacher swapped driver positions. The maestro will now be driving as Mercedes GP’s numero uno driver.

Peugeot 408 Launched

January 25, 2010

Peugeot 408

Everyone’s still talking about Detroit, probably why the Beijing show buzz just started to trickle in.

One of the new releases in the show is the new Peugeot 408. Now, forget about nomenclature since the 408 will not be the replacement for the current 407. That will be the role of the 508.

The reason why the 408’s launched in Beijing is because the 408 will primarily target the Chinese market and it will be made in Chinese assembly lines in Wuhan, China.

No powertrain and power figures were made available but the car is a long-wheelbase sedan based on the 308 which provides more leg room for the passengers seated at the back.

Peugeot is going with an embodiment of “the Marque’s modernity, guarantee maximum safety and offer unrivaled interior space” as the press release says.
