Koenigsegg Agera Revealed
February 28, 2010

Believe it or not, Koenigsegg is 15 years old. Just a few years since it was first reported to be in bankruptcy trouble, Koenigsegg even tried to buy out Saab last year. Looks like Koenigsegg’s prospects are good.
And they’re back in their element with the launch of the Koenigsegg Agera – proof that the horsepower wars isn’t over just yet. The Agera just happens to have 910 horsepower. It might not give the Bugatti or SSC a reason to start shitting their pants, but it’s 910 bhp is still nuclear.
The car is powered by the same 4.7L V8 from the CCX but its been twin-turbocharged for good measure to allow the engine to dish out that much hp and a max torque of 737 lb-ft. The figures allow the car to go from 0-62 mph in just 3.1 seconds and a top speed of more than 240 mph.
The Agera isn’t designed to replace the CCX or the CCXR and will be built alongside these models in Koenigsegg’s Sweden plant.
Pagani Zonda Tricolore Unveiled
February 28, 2010
This is possibly one of the last new Pagani Zonda variants that we’ll ever see as Pagani is set to release the C9 Zonda replacement later this year.
Meet the Pagani Zaonda Tricolore which will be seen at the upcoming Geneva motor show.
This special edition is made to honor the Frecce Tricolori – the Italian Air Force aerobatics team. The car’s based on the five-unit run Zonda Cinque but sports a unique exterior.
The car is left in its carbon-titanium (tit-bon according to James May) weave glory save for a lacquer with a bluish tint and red, white and green stripes. The car also gets extra air vents and LED running lights.
Only one Tricolore will be sold at a price of 1.3 million euros.
Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid Concept
February 24, 2010

Lotus seems like they’re on a roll building the much-acclaimed Lotus Evora and even going back to top-tier motorsport competition in Formula One. Now, Lotus has a slew of technology that they want to showcase.
Meet the Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid concept – a showcase of Lotus’ current developments in hybrid technology.
Powering the car are two electric motors driving each of the rear wheels. Each of the motors create a massive 207 (204) hp (hence the 414) that allow the car to zoom to 60 mph from standstill in sub-4 seconds.
The system will also make use of a 1.2L range extender engine that we’ve already seen in other Lotus hybrid concepts allowing the car to go 300 miles. On pure juice, the car is only capable of going 35 miles.
Lotus has been on making their cars quite efficient. Their belief in lightweightedness has given fruit not only to great performance but to great efficiency as well. Their foray into hybrids could really be the start of a new generation of agile and efficient cars.
Hamann Abarth 500
February 24, 2010
Hamann decided to stop messing with Germans and decided to put their hands on some small Italian cars. Good thing they’re Fiat 500s.
Here’s Hamann’s take on the Abarth 500 and the Abarth esseesse. Max power outputs thanks to a range of Hamann treatments include 271-hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. And you thought that the Abarth 500 esseeesse’s the best the little car can get with its 158 hp.
The boost comes from ECU tweaks, turbocharging, intake and exhaust upgrades. To help cope with the power, Hamann also had the great German sense of putting four-piston brake calipers. The car also sits on top of 18-inch matte black wheels. The car’s lowered for good measure as well.
Hamann’s packages are
Audi R8 Spyder with 4.2L V8 Coming in 2011
February 23, 2010

Audi just came out with the Audi R8 Spyder that’s powered by a 5.2L V10 FSI engine but word has it that Audi will be coming out with a tamer (and cheaper) version that packs a 4.2L V8 by next year.
The 5.2L V10 dishes out a wicked 525 hp that allows the car to sprint from 0-62 mph in 4.1 seconds. Yup, it’s that fast in a drop top.
If going that fast isn’t your style, then the coming of the tamer V8 would probably be great news for you. Who needs face melting speed when you’re trying to enjoy an afternoon drop top ride anyway?
And get this. The V8 will be $30,000 cheaper than the V10, so it would be more accessible to those who almost flinched in the past recession.
Not too many details are out yet but source say that the V8 will be mated to either a flappy-paddle R-tronic box or a proper 6-speed manual.
