Former McLaren Designer to Work on EV

The green revolution has definitely shifted many a car engineer’s perspective on what to make and tune these days. If, previously, they’re all about slapping on turbos and superchargers to internal combustion engines, now, they’re concentration on batteries, charging, and tweaking electric motors.
As for car designers, oh they’re still fussing about how to make stylish cars even if they’re designing for green cars. Former McLaren stylist Jim Dowle, now founder of design firm JJAD, announced his plans of designing an all-new sporty EV with gull-wing doors.
Dubbed as the P1-E (P1 previously) is set to be a zero-emissions, fully-electric EV that would not only pick fights with known sporty EVs like the Tesla Roadster and the Lighting GT, they say that performance figures on this one can put most normal supercars to shame.
Weighing only 2,320 lbs including the batteries, the EV will be able to reach naught to sixty in just 2.9 seconds and can reach 230 miles without charging. The best of all is the price tag of just $75,000 which is much less than what the Tesla Roadster now costs.
