SSC Confirms Ultimate Aero EV

Shelby Supercars just won’t give the horsepower wars a rest. After laughing in the face of Bugatti when they trumped the Veyron as the world’s fastest production car in the Ultimate Aero, SSC confirmed that they will now try to replicate their achievement by making an electric vehicle version.
The Aero EV will be using the same platform as the internal combustion engine powered car. An EV powertrain lineup dubbed the “All-Electric Scalable Powertrain” will be used. The name hints of the lineup’s capabilities to scale horsepower, lighteweightedness and quick recharge time.
The powerplant can be tweaked to produce a wide range of pony outputs from 200 hp to 1,200 hp. SSC developed their own nanotechnology lithium-ion batteries that can be charged in only 10 minutes and can last 150-200 miles between charging.
Seems like SSC isn’t just content with the TT’s Veyron-bashing run. They also plan to put all other performance EVs (particularly Tesla and the Lightning GT to shame).
