2010 Kia Sorento: Details and Official Picture

Kia has released the initial official image of its upcoming compact crossover SUV, the Kia Sorento, well ahead of the vehicle’s launch later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The second-generation Sorento will feature significant redesign as well as updated features.
The 2010 Sorento looks more spacious, owing to the redesign. It now features a monocoque chassis, compared to the ladder-frame one used for its first-generation designs up to the 2009 model. This frame is much like the one on the Kia Soul. Additionally, the new Sorento uses the same the platform as the Hyundai Santa Fe and Veracruz.
Under the hood of the new Sorento will be a new 2.2-liter diesel capable of 185 brake horsepower. Alternatively, potential buyers can go for a 2.4-liter petrol engine.

The 2010 Kia Forte

Kia has announced that the Kia Forte sedan, the replacement for its old Spectra design, is slated to go on sale in the United States and in Europe within the first half of 2009. Kia, which released the Forte in Korea last year, is set to display the US car at the Chicago Auto Show.
The Kia Forte can be purchased in three possible trims: the standard LX, along with the souped-up EX and SX variants that feature power door locks, power windows, map lamps, remote keyless entry, cruise control, cup holders, and floor mats.
The LX and EX models have a 2.0-liter DOHC engine capable of 156 horsepower with 144 lb.-ft. of torque. The SX, meanwhile, is powered by a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine that can go for 173 horsepower.
Buyers can also avail of an optional Fuel Economy package that includes Motor Drive Power Steering along with aerodynamic modifications and low-rolling resistance tiles. The Forte, with its healthy mix of price and features, should see a lot of run, especially since the model it replaced is only Kia’s top-grossing car.

Kia Unveils VG Executive Saloon Concept

Ahead of the Seoul motor show, Kia unveils their new VG luxury saloon concept. The car will most likely be on sale in Korea by autumn this year and in the US by next year.
Powering the car are choices of a four-cylinder 2.4L engine and a more powerful 3.8L V6. The car is a front-wheel drive executive saloon which will share technologies as the Hyundai Azera. The VG will be slotted in a class above the current Kia Magentis.
As a sign of marketing common sense, Kia said that it is unlikely that the VG will be sold in the UK due to expected weak demand for the car. Instead, they will be focusing more on the Magentis which was designed by ex-Audi’s Peter Schreyer.
