So Lexus has finally come out with the LFA and many would probably agree that it’s a good car but it’s probably not worth its £300k+ price tag. I still believe that you’d get a way better buck per bang with the Nissan GT-R that it’s supposed to trash.

Anyway, here’s a new meaner version of the LFA – the Lexus LFA Special Edition. The car promises to be a mean track machine having been developed at the ultimate proving ground for many production cars – the Nurburgring.

The car is powered by the same 4.8L V10 engine but the exhaust system and a tweaks to its ECU to dish out 552 bhp. The improved transmission also trims down the shift speeds by 0.05 seconds so shift times now occur in just 0.15 seconds.

The car also sports an aero kit which include a larger rear wing and a new front splitter. The suspensions are also tweaked for added stiffness. The car sits on lightweight rims with semi-slick styles.

After six years in development, Toyota poured millions into its development but the price tag and expected production and sales figures wouldn’t make it Lexus’ cash cow.

The LFA is powered by a 4.8L V10 that dishes out 552 bhp. That much power allows the car to hit 62 mph from standstill in 3.7 seconds and go all the way to 202 mph.

The LFA hit a roadblock about a year ago when Nissan came out with the GT-R. Toyota engineers went back to the drawing board to make sure that the GT-R would not shame Lexus in the bid of building the next proper Asian supercar after the Honda NSX ended its run.

While there will be expected demand for the car, 375,000 Euros is already the price of two Aston Martin DBSes. And quite frankly, even though I’m a Toyota fan, I’m pretty sure I’d spring for a couple of DBSes instead if I had the money.

Let’s face it, Westerners do have a tendency to loath competitor’s guts to kingdom come.

Here’s Honda CEO, Takanobu Ito, acknowledging what Toyota/Lexus has accomplished with the LFA. When asked about the status of the NSX replacement, Ito said that “it wouldn’t look like the monster Toyota has just shown at the motor show.”

Latest word on the NSX replacement is that it will be a hydrogen fuel cell supercar that would pack max torque from zero RPM. Honda aims to crack the hydrogen puzzle and made quite the push with their FCX Clarity. Now if only hydrogen storage will finally be solved.

Honda’s giving up on the horsepower war and is concentrating on being the world’s greenest automaker. Their latest showcase, the Honda CR-Z hybrid is testament to that effort.

This time, featuring the newly unveiled Lexus LF-A.

Much like other configurators, this one offers previews for exterior and interior styling. The exterior mods include previews for the standard and special paint jobs, caliper colors and wheel options. Inside you can switch between leather and alcantara trims for almost everything from the seats to the instrument panels. You can even rotate the car 360 degrees.

The mircosite’s basically an online brochure for those with $400,000 (375,000 Euros) to spare for the price tag.

For some reason though, messing with an LF-A isn’t as exciting as virtually customizing Italian exotica like with the Ferrari 458 Italia. (And come on, what’s with the “Passionate Pink” paint color?)

Check the site out here.

All the buzz sometime ago and the eventual “back to the drawing board” stint made by Toyota robbed us of the excitement of an upcoming supercar.

Lexus wanted the car to be the next real supercar from Asia after the demise of the Honda NSX. Nissan beat them to the punch with the Nissan GT-R that set quite the bar. Not wanting to be trumped by Nissan, Toyota went back to re-plan the LF-A.

The car will be powered by a 5.0L V10 that dishes out an approximated 550 hp and can rev up to 9,000 rpm. With some effort done to keep the weight down, the car rivals the Ferrari 599 with a 367 bhp/ton power to weight ratio.

Anyway, here’s a spyshot of the car doing its rounds at the Nurburgring. Lexus is in its final stages of development and plans to have it on sale soon. It’s expected to debut at the Tokyo show next month.

Lexus, Japanese automaker Toyota’s luxury brand, has always been at the top of the sales boards in the US for the past 9 years. However, BMW has made quite the push and is just around 2,000 units behind this year.

“We’re really breathing down Lexus’ neck,” said Jim O’Donnell, CEO of BMW Group’s North American sales.

The US auto market took a huge beating due to the recession. The year saw two of the Detroit Three (General Motors and Chrysler) go belly up. Still, BMW sees a possible improvement in luxury car sales as the economy improves.

Not quite. The Lexus IS-F, for example, requires you to shell out more dough for tech that had become standard to other cars.

At least Lexus finally had the sense of improving the base car by slotting in several tech as standard. The 2010 production version of the IS-F will feature limited slip differentials, and foldable rear headrests, and a new 19-inch wheel design.

For other luxuries, the 2010 IS-F will pack Lexus’ Premium Sound System that includes digital wizardry like iPod/USB connectivity, Bluetooth, and XM satellite radio. Lexus also improved the satnav system by slapping on a casual-language voice recognition.

Powering the car is a 5.0L V8 engine that is mated to a an 8-speed Sport Direct Shift transmission. The engine dishes out 416 hp and a max torque of 371 lb-ft. These make the IS-F a fast four-door.

The 2010 IS-F will start at a base MSRP of $56,760.

Toyota President Akio Toyoda will be at the driver’s seat of the new Lexus GT500 prototype when the 24 Hours Nurburgring runs on May 23 through 24. The car, also referred to sometimes as the Lexus LF-A, will be running in the race for the second time.

Toyoda banners the four-man driver lineup for the GT500 sports car. He had previously been at the wheel of the car for the Toyota Motorsports Festival back in November, which was held at Fuji Speedway. He drove the car for 2 laps around the track.

The LF-A prototype first saw action at the Nurburgring 4 hour VLN endurance race, winning the SP8 class. The car had a decent showing at last year’s 24 Hours Nurburgring, but lagged behind the times of other cars such as a Dodge Viper.

The car runs on a 4.8-liter V10 that gives it power of over 500 horsepower.

The LF-A has been one of those cars that aren’t deemed fit for production because of the recession. But its continued race participation shows hope for the future. The prototype, after all, is participating in the 24 Hours Nurburgring as part of the company’s development program for the car.download spider woman the divx free ghost town the movie movie download

The RX350 is expected to reach dealers sometime this month.

The 2010 RX350 has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $36,800 for the standard front-wheel drive model, while the all-wheel drive variant fetches an MSRP of $38,200. The vehicle features a six-speed automatic transmission with Multi-Mode shifting. It has a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 275 horsepower at 6,200 rpm with 256 lb.-ft. of torque.

The AWD model comes with a new technology called the Active Torque Control AWD System, which varies torque distribution to suit different driving conditions. There’s also a handling technology called the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management, which oversees all the other handling systems in the car, including ABS, vehicle stability control, traction control, and brake assist. There’s also Adaptive Front-Lighting System and an optional Pre-Collision System with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

Loaded with the latest tech and a boosted powertrain, the 2010 Lexus RX350 really stamps its class on the luxury crossover segment. It’s like they took this car to the Allspark [of Transformers lore], what with all the advanced systems in it. But being a Lexus, we can just hope it’d be fun to drive.
