2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback and Ralliart Pricing Announced
August 9, 2009
Analysts have been telling Mitsubishi to reconsider their business in North America but with this announcement, it’s clear that they intend to stay. For now. Mitsubishi Motors North America announced the pricing on their new 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback GTS ands Ralliart that will be available at the dealerships on August 17.
The Sportback lineup includes the GTS that packs the 2.4L engine churning out 168 hp with a max toque of 167 lb-ft of torque. Buyers have a choice between a 5-speed manual ($19,190) and a 6-speed CVT auto ($20,190). The power’s a bit disappointing since a 2.0L engine can supposedly churn out much more than 168 hp.
But if you want more power and can spare a few more thousand dollars, you might want to go for the Ralliart trim level that packs a whopping 237 horses from a trubocharged 2.0L MIVEC engine. Price for this model starts at $27,590. This baby is almost Evo-like packing tech like All-Wheel Control and Active Center Diff. A 6-speed Twin Clutch-Sportronic Shift Transmission comes as standard as well.
Mitsubishi, Panasonic Race to Bring Blu-Ray Players to Cars
June 19, 2009
Blu-Ray is the new standard of optical video disc storage, having won the format war against High-Definition DVD. Now, Mitsubishi’s electronics arm and Panasonic are locked in a battle of their own as they try and get the first car Blu-Ray players to the market—with Panasonic much closer to victory.
Panasonic has a considerable head start over Mitsubishi Electronics, having been able to show a prototype BD player for cars back in 2007. Fast forward to 2009, and Panasonic says their player already has a bunch of features: a 40-Gigabyte hard drive, GPS, Bluetooth connectivity and a television tuner. The system also comes with a 7-inch screen that already supports HD quality.
Mitsubishi, on the other hand, hasn’t revealed what’s in store for its own car BD player. Other electronics companies are expected to bring their own players to the market in the near future.
While Panasonic’s BD player is nothing short of amazing in terms of its integrated features, it will also likely be the first one to hit the market. That would be a significant advantage, especially since Mitsubishi’s isn’t expected to be ready until around March 2010.

Mitsubishi Colt to Get TWR Treatment
May 10, 2009
Mitsubishi has tied up with extreme tuner Tom Walkinshaw Racing and is expected to release a Mitsubishi Colt with TWR’s performance tweaks. The Japanese automaker has recently sent a Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart variant to the tuner to let them see what they can do.
“We’ve sent Tom Walkinshaw Racing a Colt Ralliart and told them to see what they can do with it to improve its performance and handling,” said a Mitsubishi spokesperson. The Mitsubishi Colt Walkinshaw Performance car is likely to receive suspension modifications in order to achieve a lower ride height for improved handling. The tuner will also probably include a new body kit for improved aerodynamics and race styling. TWR is said to be retaining the existing engine in the Colt Ralliart, a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine capable of 147 brake horsepower.
Walkinshaw Performance is the tuner arm of Tom Walkinshaw Racing, a team founded by tourer racer Tom Walkinshaw back in 1976.
With all the modifications, expect the optional Walkinshaw Performance kit to add a significant cost when the standard model is released sometime in Spring 2009.

Mitsubishi Says Goodbye to Off-Road Motorsport
May 4, 2009
Mitsubishi had been participating in quite a lot of motorsports particularly those that demand some really hardy machines like off-roading and rallying (via their motorsport division, Ralliart). These have led them to push their engineering to a different level and their developments have been used to their own production vehicles like the Lancer Evolution.
However, Mitsubishi had a dismal performance in the recent Dakar Rally in which they finished 10th. This result, compounded by the economic downturn, has led to the company’s decision to withdraw from off-roading.
Mitsubishi had its heyday in the Dakar rally, entering it 26 times and winning it in 12 occasions including 7 consecutive victories.download for love or money online watch guide to recognizing your saints a in divx download shrek the halls dvd download rough around the edges live from madison square garden movie fearless vampire killers the divx online
Mitsubishi to Launch Plug-In Hybrid in October
January 5, 2009
Mitsubishi has made public its plans of launching a plug-in hybrid at the Tokyo Motor Show in October. This is a step forward for the alternative energy strategy for the Japanese car manufacturer.
The plug-in hybrid could be based off the Concept cX, the AWD compact SUV concept exhibited by Mitsubishi at the 2007 Frankfurt Show. Since the cX has been transformed into the production model zC, it isn’t unlikely if the hybrid takes its cures from the cX.
Mitsubishi will build the plug-in hybrid on its current compact car GS platform, otherwise known as “Project Global,” which is also used by the Outlander, Lancer, Evolution X, and Delica.
It seems all automakers are keen on getting their own plug-in hybrid out on the market these days. But Mitsubishi’s plans put at least three years before the production version is finalized. That’s a considerable period of time, and by then the company could get left behind in the green race.
