Ghosn Vows to Stay as Nissan Chief
May 17, 2009
Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn maintained that he won’t be leaving the Japanese automaker anytime soon—at least not until Nissan sees profitability again. This was his sentiment even after he announced that the company posted the first annual operating loss under his term.
Ghosn said that leaving now wouldn’t just mean leaving; it would mean ‘deserting’. The Nissan chief doesn’t see himself leaving until clear profits are achieved, and he doesn’t predict the company achieving that earlier than March 2011.
Ghosn also recognizes that there are plenty of opportunities for mergers with other car manufacturers, but he says that Nissan is staying put for the time being to tend to its own matters.
“We are focusing on our own business for the moment, on our own cash, on our own profitability, leaving the opportunities on the side. When we’re back to profit, feeling the pickup and that the financial turmoil is behind us, then we may think again, but not for the moment.”watch view from the top in divx kid i the divx movie online free son of the mask movie download
Nissan’s New EV Program for Tucson, AZ
May 11, 2009
Nissan announced a new zero-emission electric vehicle program for Tucson, Arizona. The program will focus on the development of new EVs and a charging network as a means of getting vital research and testing the vehicles and systems.
The program is made in partnership with ECOtality, a company specializing in electric technologies, and the Pima Association of Governments, a nonprofit organization in Tucson focusing on transportation and environmental planning.
“This partnership,” according to Nissan North America senior VP of administration and finance Dominique Thormann, represents a major step toward making zero emissions a reality in the Tucson metro area. We are looking forward to working with our partners in fostering the development and acceptance of electric vehicles as a smart, environmentally sound choice.”
With Nissan’s long-term plans of mass-producing its EVs by 2012, this kind of practical research should go a long way in streamlining processes and optimizing the setups involved in widespread EV usage. The choice of location will allow testing in an extreme environment—all the better for the research.

Nissan Altima is NYPD’s Hybrid Patrol Car
May 5, 2009
The New York Police Department is going green after it has just deployed 40 Nissan Altima Hybrids as part of its patrol car fleet. It is part of GreeNYC, which is a component of the New York initiative called PlaNYC, designed for the city’s sustainability over the next 25 years.
Michael Bloomberg, the mayor of New York City, has high hopes for the hybrid fleet. “These new patrol cars will help fulfill the PlaNYC goal of reducing City government’s carbon footprint. Through savings in fuel, these Altimas can quickly cover their additional cost, from then they will save taxpayers money – another example of how going green is good for our environment and our pocketbooks.”
The Altima Hybrids will be the first hybrid patrol cars to be deployed. The fleet will be divided into 18 marked patrol cars, while the rest will be unmarked. They will be deployed all over the city, particularly in some of the more congested urban precincts.
It’s a great initiative on the part of the NYPD. In a year or so, results on the current fleet will determine if additional hybrids will be deployed by the department.aladdin movie free wayne s world it s a free world download club dread dvd download
Nissan and Europcar Sign Pact for EV-for-hire Program
January 31, 2009
Nissan and rental company Europcar have agreed to market zero-emission vehicles worldwide over the next three years, as Nissan comes close to finalizing a brand-new electric vehicle as part of its efforts to make electric technology more affordable.
Nissan says that the new EV is 95 percent ready for production, and is expected to reveal the vehicle at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show in October. Sources say that it is highly likely that this is the EV that the Europcar pact will center on.
“Nissan and Europcar share the same belief that the introduction and expansion of electric vehicles is one of the best solutions to sustain the growing need for mobility across the globe,” said Nissan International senior vice president Eric Nicolas.
Rafael Girona, the CEO for Europcar, said that the program gives consumers “the option of exploring a new means of mobility by giving them the unique experience of using an electric vehicle” and leading to eco-friendly citizens. The program will definitely go a long way in providing better accessibility for electric vehicles—especially since most EVs are generally quite expensive.download who am i free
New Qazana Teaser Ahead of Geneva Show
January 12, 2009
It looks like Nissan is planning to break it to the enthusiasts a little too gently. The Japanese automaker has revealed the first teaser pic for its upcoming Qazana crossover concept ahead of the vehicle’s unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show this March.
The teaser shows only the upper left-hand portion of the Qazana’s front view. But even with only the barest of images, the teaser shows the radical, edgy styling present in the rough sketch released last year. Sharp angles side by side with sleek curves gives the vehicle a different feel, and the novel headlight designs are sure to turn some heads one way or the other.
The exclusively European-designed Qazana is said to be the future of Nissan SUVs, as it has been said that future SUV concepts and designs will be based off the Qazana platform. Let’s just wait and see for ourselves when the Qazana is unveiled at the Geneva Show.
