Toyota FT-86 with Predecessors
March 8, 2010

Here’s a sporty family picture of Toyota’s latest sports coupe together with is predecessors – the Supra, the Celica and the AE86.
The FT-86 was initially heralded as the replacement to the iconic AE86/Corolla GT/Corolla Levin/Trueno Sprinter but was also reported as the Celica replacement. Fact is, the FT-86 is Toyota’s latest sports coupe and it does look like it took off from all of these cars.
The FT-86 is a joint project with Subaru. Powering the car is a 2.0L boxer engine from Subaru. The FT-86 will maintain the AE86’s RWD heritage though.
The car’s also built with lightweightedness in mind to give it the agility to round corners. It’s got a proper LSD to boot making the car a possible drifting monster.
A Subaru model with 4WD is expected to come out soon.

The co-developed Toyota/Subaru FT-86 revival of the famed AE86 RWD street racing icon might get a new exterior say rumors.
We’ve already seen the concept unveiled at the last Tokyo Motor Show complete with color of a baboon’s ass but Toyota might just be going towards another direction when it comes to the styling.
Weird thing is that we’ve already seen a G-Sports version of the car and developing the special body panels would’ve already cost Toyota some money.
It’s Toyota’s decision anyway. If they think using a better shell for their sporty RWD coupe’s the best way to go, then so be it.
We could all just hope that this car’s dependable as heck. Unlike the millions of cars already recalled (and are still recalling).
Toyota Problem Now Involves Prius Brakes
February 3, 2010

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Toyota is now facing its toughest challenge in the world market yet. The accelerator problem that has affect million of its vehicles across models has probably permanently scarred its reputation of building tough and dependable vehicles.
The Prius is among the models affected by the massive recall and it seems that the Prius also has another problem to go with the sticky throttle. Reports of customers complaining about brake failure problems from both America and Japan. An reported incident of a crash slightly injuring two passengers is already in the books.
Apple co-founder Stever Wozniak is among those who reported experiencing problems with their Priuses. Woz reported that his Prius sped up while in cruise control prompting him to point out the possibility that the problem might be in the software.
Modern cars have been using ECUs (or electronic control units) to help control their many systems from engine control to braking systems.
Toyota X G Sports Concept
January 18, 2010

Now we’re wondering what business value the G Sports tuning range will give Toyota. Well, the line sure is a nice breather to the boring styling of its fleet.
We’ve already seen the Prius G Sports and the FT-86 G Sports. Here’s the Toyota X G Sports.
The Mark X is supposed to be Toyota’s answer to the BMW 5-Series for the Asian market. Given the price premium on European models in Asia, the Mark X can give the 5-Series a fight if only for value for money.
The one in showcase packs a 3.6L V6 dishing out 314 bhp and 280 lb-ft of torque (the stock Mark X shares the same 3.5L 2GR-FSE engine found in the Lotus Evora). The car’s rear-wheel drive and sports a six-speed automatic ‘box.
As for the aggressive G Sports styling, the car includes a reworked front end. At the rear, it gets a new bumper and a rear spoiler and a four-pipe exhausts. The car sits atop of 20-inch alloys

So we’re spilling over some of the Toyota goodness from this blog.
So Toyota will also be launching a new tuning accessories line dubbed G Sports. And the pieces do look mighty aggressive. Just check out the one they did with the Prius. Made the car look pretty bad ass.
This here’s the Toyota FT-86 G Sports Concept which is the sporty FT-86 with some really bad ass aero bits stuck on it. Visible additions as the new hood, the tweaked front bumpers, a spiffy carbon fiber rear wing and diffuser.
The car packs a turbocharged version of the 2.0L boxer engine from Subaru. No word on the power figure yet but the aero package looks more than enough to spring for this sporty G Sports version.
Toyota FT-HC Hybrid Concept Revealed
January 11, 2010

Looks like Toyota is bent on developing the Prius sub-brand. A great sign of that is this new hybrid concept that they just showcased in this year’s Detroit motor show.
Check out the Toyota FT-CH Compact Hybrid Concept which many say would be the basis of future cars to be launched under the Prius sub-brand.
The FT-CH concept is smaller than the new Prius. It can might as well be slotted in as a Scion with its compact and youthful appeal.
If you can remember, Toyota launched a hybrid concept a few years ago dubbed the Hybrid X Concept and the FT-CH does look like it took after the old concept.
No word yet on what will power this car but Toyota is exploring quite a lot in terms of electric and even hydrogen fuel cell technology so those can be real possibilities.
