Batmobile on Top Gear Set - The Stig Climbing In

Looks like the batman made a stop to see the folks over at the BBC’s Top Gear. While he was there he was even kind enough to let The Stig take it out for a spin. Might we see the coveted batmobile put down its fastest time around the top gear track? One can only hope.

I was contacted by the owner of the photographs who went  through  the story behind it:

As you can tell it was taken when Batman Begins was due out. I worked on the Top Gear programme website at the time and was taking as many photos as possible for the site. When I took this one, we got the third degree from the WB representative, who told us we couldn’t use an image of someone getting into the car via the roof.

Their argument was that it spoiled the illusion of the Batmobile.

I laughed at the time, and as per their request never used it on the site, but put it straight on my Flickr account because I liked the image.

Bugatti Veyron and Ferrari 599 GTB Street Racing

If you’re contemplating taking your Veyron out to school the little boys in their 599’s, you best know what the repercussions might be. We know a situation such as this might be, and most likely will be MUCH different if you are in the states, However in the UK, you’d be looking at 3 points on your record and a fine that’s a mere droplet compared to what you paid for the car at £60 (about $120.)

We have two blokes to thank for these numbers, that were out for a little fun in Hampshire, UK. Attention was obviously brought to the two supercars stretching their legs, and a pursuit ensued. The BMW police car got up to 140mph chasing the two, when the Veyron decided to pull over, while the 599 kept going, and ultimately got away.

“We were in hysterics when we saw the Bugatti had been stopped. The policeman had a furious look that suggested the driver was in tons of trouble.”

Said a motorist who managed to snap a couple pictures of the cars, one as the two went racing by, showing the 599 may have been expecting some unwanted attention and was not sporting a license plate. Another of the Veyron while it’s pulled over.

Rent a Bugatti Veyron

There is a huge demographic of people that will never have the chance to sit behind the wheel of the worlds greatest super cars. Lamborghini’s, Ferrari’s, Aston Martin’s… they are ‘untouchable’ for the majority because they could simply not afford to buy or lease one. High end rental agencies are slowly bringing that opportunity to more and more people as they are becoming more widely available, easier to actually rent, and a greater variety of cars are being offered.

Up until late, the standard ‘baller’ cars that could be found on rental lots catering to those looking for something a little flashier and faster than the PT Cruiser, were the Ferrari 355 and the 360, and assortments of Porsche’s. That has changed quite a bit over the past year or so, we now have Lamborghini’s being offered, and not just the Gallardo either.

But Beverly Hills Rent-a-Car has truly stepped up the game. Offering the all mighty Bugatti Veyron to the likes of all. Well all who have $25,000 to spend on the car for a 24 hour rental of the mega car. We at CarFront were quite intrigued, and phoned up Beverly Hills to get some more information, and find out answers to pertinent questions like:

Is doing 250mph+ frowned upon?

How many supermodels can fit comfortably and uncomfortably in the car.

I’ll give you my wife, house and first born… how about we call it square?

But unfortunately I didn’t even get the chance to ask my pressing questions as their customer service seemed a tad below helpful, after getting transfered around for information. At my last stop I was told to simply send an email, two days later, I’m still waiting.

Bugatti Veyron | Sang Noir

Paying homage to the Bugatti Atlantique 57S, the Sang Noir is the third special edition Veyron. It’s the darker side of the Pur Sang and the Hermes edition.
