Bugatti 16C Galibier New Pic

March 16, 2010

Check out this new picture of the upcoming Bugatti 16C Galibier. The car’s still in concept phase but this already greatly gives gearheads a great idea of Bugatti’s plans for new high-performance saloon that will be launched in 2013 as a follow up to the Veyron.

The concept was originally made to test out market reaction if customers would be reacting positively to it but Bugatti seems heavily favored in making the car when Veyron production ends in 2012.

Not too many details have been released regarding the car but it sure looks like it will be ready to claim the title of fastest, quickest and mosy powerful four-door saloon. It might not match the Veyron but it will be the new benchmark for four-door cars.

The 16C Galibier is expected to be sold with a £900,00 price tag.

The Bugatti Veyron Mouse on Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien

January 24, 2010

Bugatti Veyron Mouse

So the news about Conan O’Brien being kicked out of the NBC’s Tonight Show has been the stuff of legend. Sad to say that it even trumped the devastation of Haiti in some younger circles.

As part of O’Brien’s final hurrah, the Tonight Show featured a running gig that aims to spend as much money as possible on NBC’s tab. And one of their featured bit was this Bugatti Veyron Mouse which is basically a standard Bugatti Veyron.

Currently, the Bugatti Veyron is one of the most expensive production cars in the market where it’s price tag is currently north of $1.4M.

Conan later admits that it’s just all for show. So we’re wondering who really owns the Veyron used for the bit. And thanks, Conan for showing us that with proper attire, the Veyron does look like a mouse.

Top 10 Best Cars of the Decade

December 30, 2009

So it’s the year and the decades end and it’s all about lists. So we’ve made our own and checked it twice on our pics for the best cars of the decade. Largely our basis for choosing is the car’s impact to motoring. If it’s all about speed and performance supercars will pepper the list. For some reason, it does, but that doesn’t stop us from looking at the sensible side of things.

Toyota Prius 550

10. Toyota Prius

While die-hard gear- and petrolheads aren’t throwing in the towel yet in this econmentalist revolution that has affected the motoring industry, we have to admit the the impact of the hybrid. It might be slow to drive and you might look like a smug and sanctimonious bastard who likes the smell of his own farts owning one. But it did challenge the status quo regarding cars and saving the planet. And quite frankly, whether we like it or not, that’s where motoring is headed.

Bugatti Releases Three Limited Edition Veyrons

December 16, 2009

Bugatti Veyron Sang D'Argent

Bugatti might be planning its new car (remember the Galibier concept?) but that doesn’t mean that the Veyron should be forgotten. Bugatti made three limited Veyron editions just for the Dubai motor show.

Yup. You read that right. That’s three. And you have to wonder if Bugatti stylers have started snorting powdered aluminum.

The “Nocturne” which features a black and polished aluminum body. To round up the shiny bits, the car featuyres galvanised side windows, custom rims, a platinum center console and black magnesium dashboard.

Next up is the “Sang d’Aergent” inspired by the old Centenary Villa d’Este cars. The car features a two-tone exterior and polished aluminum.

Rounding up the trio is the “Soleil de Nuit” (meaning “sun of the night”) which comes in a deep blue exterior, aluminum finish and a bright orange leather interior.

The cars bear a few hundred thousand on top of the price of the regular Veyron. Despite the Dubai recession, there’s no question that the middle east pretty much is one of the most viable markets for such an expsnsive cars.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Blue

August 17, 2009

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang BleuThe Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California is really the place to be to ogle at exotic dream machines like this special edition Bugatti.

If you think that the targa-topped Veyron Grand Sport is not limited enough, then you might want this – the Sang Bleu.

Remember the special limited run black Sang Noir? This time, Bugatti goes blue with Sang Bleu and its even rarer than the Sang Noir. Only one Sang Bleu will be made.

The distinctive blue color is due to a specially tinted carbon fibre and the rest of the shiny bits are made from polished aluminum. The car also sports body-colored rear airscoops, a new wheel design and a new interior leather trim.

The Pebble Beach event is becoming the home of new Veyrons. The Grand Sport was unveiled there last year.

Bugatti Bordeaux Coming to Frankfurt

July 15, 2009

Bugatti BordeauxSo Bugatti has been quite busy creating limited editions of its Veyron hypercar. For those wondering when will the company ever show us a new model, well, September’s not that far away.

Yup. Bugatti is reported to be unveiling its four-seater hypercar (dubbed the Bordeaux) at the Frankfurt Motor Show in October. And that bit of teaser’s even accompanied by this grainy teaser picture. Now, see that, Bentley, now that’s how you tease.

The car was first reported to be dubbed the Royale but Bugatti has finally settled for Bordeaux. Better share a name with wine than a quarter-pounder in France. Despite the grainy image here, reports have it that the car will get a shooting-brake-style body and horseshoe-shaped tail lights.

The car will have four seats inside. Speculations also have it that the car will be powered by the same 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 found in the Veyron. That will definitely make the car the fastest four-seater around. Imagine being driven in one of those at 250 mph while sipping Bordeaux.
