So Lotus is coming up with variants of the Evora. We’ve already heard about the 414E Hybrid that Lotus is showcasing at the Geneva show. Alongside the hybrid, Geneva motor show audiences will also be able to check out this souped up Evora – the Lotus Evora Carbon.

The Evora Carbon derives much of its features from the Evora race car that competed in the GT4 series.

The car features a white water-based pearlescent paint that provides great contrast with the carbon-fiber panels. The car sits atop 19-inch alloys with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires. The diffuser and splitter are both made of carbon fiber.

While the 414E Hybrid might just remain a concept car, the Evora Carbon might just make it as a production model.

Lotus seems like they’re on a roll building the much-acclaimed Lotus Evora and even going back to top-tier motorsport competition in Formula One. Now, Lotus has a slew of technology that they want to showcase.

Meet the Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid concept – a showcase of Lotus’ current developments in hybrid technology.

Powering the car are two electric motors driving each of the rear wheels. Each of the motors create a massive 207 (204) hp (hence the 414) that allow the car to zoom to 60 mph from standstill in sub-4 seconds.

The system will also make use of a 1.2L range extender engine that we’ve already seen in other Lotus hybrid concepts allowing the car to go 300 miles. On pure juice, the car is only capable of going 35 miles.

Lotus has been on making their cars quite efficient. Their belief in lightweightedness has given fruit not only to great performance but to great efficiency as well. Their foray into hybrids could really be the start of a new generation of agile and efficient cars.

This here is Lotus’ Proton concept car which will be showcased at the upcoming Geneva motor show come March. The car is set to showcase the “advanced” hybrid powertrain that Lotus has been working on.

The drivetrain features a 1.2L 3-cylinder Lotus range extender engine complementing an electrical drive system. Unlike current hybrids, the electrical drive system will be the one powering the car and it’s mated to a single-speed transmission.

The internal combustion engine will only kick in to provide an extended range once the battery power is depleted. The batteries are charged by the range extender engine or by plugging to a regular household outlet.

When it comes to agility, the Lotus Elise can give many cars twice its price a real trashing. This here’s the new facelifted Elise. The wasp not only gets improved styling, it’s also greener.

Powering the car is a range of choices that include a new 1.6L engine for the S model, a 1.8L for the R model that dishes out 192 bhp for the R model and the supercharged version of the 1.8L for the SC model that dishes our 217 bhp. A six-speed close-ration gearbox comes standard across models.

The car still mainatins its lightweightedness so all that power in a light body promises the same agility that the Elise has been known for.

The facelift includes a new front bumper, splitter and clasmshell. The front light cluster’s also repositioned to give the car some daytime running LEDs. The back gets a new bumper and engine cover.

Options include alloy wheels and cruise control.

Lotus just added yet another race car in their lineup – the Lotus Evora Cup. Basically, it’s a Lotus Evora (remember that great comfortable 2 + 2 sports car with a Camry engine released last year) but has gotten some mad reowrkings by Lotus Motorsport.

As it is, the Lotus Evora can already be something out on a track thanks to its larger engine and lightweight body. Unlike the Elise and the Exige, the Evora is capable of powersliding some fun as well.

The Cup version’s reworkings include upping the V6’s displacement to 4.0L for it to dish out 395 hp. The car’s also fitted with a six-speed sequential gearbox and six-piston calipers with two-piece alumnum belled brake discs.

Since this is Lotus we’re talking about, lightweightedness definitely factors into the picture. Carbon fiber swaps and other weight methods have been employed to shave off 400 unwanted pounds from the car.

The end result is a car that can be raced in a GT4 competition.

So the drum-banging for the upcoming Formula One season has started. With quite a number of new teams joining F1, 2010 might just be the reboot the sport needs after a controversial year of scandals and exits.

One of the teams joining the field next season in their top-tier motorsport comeback is Lotus and the team has announced their drivers for next season – Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen.

Trulli and Kovalainen had been quite a bit in danger of not having any seat next season. Jarno’s old team, Toyota, pulled out of the competition just this October while Kovalainen was dropped by McLaren in favor of World Champion Jenson Button.

Both drivers have quite the experience in them and would benefit Lotus in that regard.

Earlier this year, Lotus signed the concord agreement that means it will be racing in Formula One next season. Now, they’ve appointed a new director for motorsport.

The lucky pick – Claudio Berro – will be in charge of Lotus’ racing pursuits next year. These would include participation in F1, Indycar, GT, and Le Mans. Berro has a proven track record with Ferrari, Maserati and Fiat.

“I am looking forward to reintroducing Lotus to high-level motorsport to not only compete and win but also to demonstrate the shared technology between Lotus sports cars and future racing cars,” Berro said.

Lotus is now owned by Malaysian car firm Proton and Lotus’ participation in F1 involves the Malaysian government. Now that should be a kick in the nuts of those who still consider Southeast Asia a primitive region.

The Proton-owned company will be returning to Formula One next season. The Exige and Elise continue to be quite the performance cars and their latest offering – the Evora – is earning quite the acclaim among journalists.

Lotus has had efforts on green technology and this here’s their latest one for the environment. They claim that this 1.2L range extender engine’s ground-breaking. The engine’s made for hybrids and is similar to the powerplant found in the Chevy Volt.

The engine has an aluminum monoblock construction that integrates the cylinder block, head, and exhaust manifold in one casting. Less bolts mean less weight, cost and size but with better emissions and resistance to wear. The engine can take both alcohol-based fuels and gasoline.

Lotus will be experimenting with it on a Jaguar XJ in an effort to produce an executive saloon with less than 120 g/km of emissions.

CarFront’s source was off for the list price of the LP560-4, what can we say, we try hard to get you info as fast as we can, sometimes this causes a mistake here and there. We’ve been informed from an licensed Lamborghini dealer that Base price is $191,000 for a 6 speed and $210,600 for the eGear

So if you decide to run a fully optioned LP560-4 You’re going to be swimming in the $250k price range, and definitely not playing in the $300k+ ball park.

Ready to fork out the list price of $280,000

lives of the saints the movie download

for the new Lamborghini LP560-4? Well you’ll need to choose your options which will send the price climbing.

Carbon Ceramic Breaks, a must have will run you a staggering $18,768. Add Sat nav in the car, that will add $3,113. Want the largest alloys available? tack on $6,256. Add on the sport package for another $2,681 and finally, if you make your e-gear you will be adding a final $12,054. So if you get your new Lambo fully loaded you can be looking to spend about $322,000
