Call it shock advertising bu t BMW must be nuts having this pretty absurd teaser. Dubbed “Two Untamed,” it’s supposedly to hype on the debuts of the Mini Coupe and the new Roadster Concept. BMW Considering Rolls-Royce Mini

June 18, 2009

Here’s something to get the hearts of Mini fans pounding like whoa. BMW is reportedly thinking very seriously about bringing a new high-end Mini variant which will be re-trimmed by Rolls-Royce, and this new development is said to be close to pushing through.

Earlier spy photos of a Rolls-Royce-trimmed Mini show what is apparently an advanced prototype for a line of premium Minis, instead of a mere one-off model. If this turns out to be official, then we might see a dynamic new direction in the expansion of BMW’s Mini brand.

There are also reports that those who avail of this new Mini model will be able to personally select variations in the interior trim, right at Rolls-Royce’s Goodwood facility. They can also pick up the finished Mini at the same facility.

Mini execs are likely seeing the potential of having the smaller Mini cars fitted with premium-grade trims, thanks to the downsizing trend among drivers. This is where the new Rolls-Royce Mini could make a name for itself—rich drivers who want a smaller ride, but still with luxurious furnishings inside.

Mini to Launch Diesel-Powered Hatch

May 29, 2009

Mini has plans of launching a new range powered diesels by 2010, and the range will be bannered by a new hatch fitted with a BMW 120d four-cylinder diesel engine. This range of Minis will already be in the pilot build phase starting in May.

While the BMW 120d engine is designed for longitudinal application, Mini engineers have managed to find a way to incorporate it in the Mini hatch’s transverse orientation engine bay. The engineers found the process to be quite “tricky”, but they were able to do it nonetheless.

The engine was tuned to tone down the power a bit, from 177 brake horsepower to somewhere nearer to 150 bhp. The test cars will see the engine mated to an automatic transmission, but chances are the production cars will be given manual transmission systems. Mini has also confirmed the possibility of providing this new model with stop-start technology.

The pilot build phase starts in May, and the pre-production models will be assembled at BMW’s Munich headquarters. Mini is targeting a 12-month development process and a 2010 Geneva Motor Show debut for the upcoming Mini diesel range.

A Mini for Charity: The George Harrison Mini

January 18, 2009

A special one-of-a-kind Mini George Harrison edition will be showcased at the Mini United event later in May. The unique car will then be auctioned as part of a fund-raiser for Harrison’s Material World Charitable Foundation.

“George was a huge Mini fan and he would have enjoyed creating this new version,” said Harrison’s widow, Olivia Harrison. “The fact that Mini’s anniversary celebrations will also benefit our Foundation has made it an enjoyable as well as meaningful collaboration.”

This Mini is based off something that Harrison himself created. Harrison customized the Mini Cooper S that Brian Epstein, the band manager, gave each of the Beatles back in 1966. The car will have the same markings, images, and mantras just like the one on Harrison’s own car.

The George Harrison Mini will be turned over to Olivia Harrison during the event in Silverstone, and will go under the hammer sometime later. Proceeds of the auction will go to the Material World Charitable Foundation, which was established by Harrison back in 1973.hitchhiker s guide to the galaxy the free

AC Schnitzer Launches New Kit for Mini Cooper Cabrio

January 9, 2009

German tuning firm AC Schnitzer has come up with a new kit that should make the Mini Cooper Cabrio a lot less cute but a lot sportier. The kit includes a variety of modifications, primarily with the engine, suspension, aerodynamics, and styling.

The AC Schnitzer kit will have 208 horsepower, a notch above the standard Cooper S Cabrio that goes for 175 horsepower. There will also be an option to get the limited-slip differential that is also available for the Cooper S. New suspension components, such as a suspension spring kit and height-adjustable racing suspension, also serves to boost the Schnitzer variant.

The car’s appearance was given a host of upgrades as well. There are new and improved decals for the car’s sides, along with custom alloy wheels to highlight the sportier look. New front spoilers and rear skirts provide visual appeal and aerodynamic performance. For the interior, prospective buyers will be getting foot rests, gear knobs, handbrakes, and pedals custom-made by AC Schnitzer, plus velour floor mats.

With AC Schnitzer’s new Cooper Cabrio kit, the car will be more aggressive than ever. The various performance upgrades should be worth at least a look for Cooper fans.free party monster movie download x men the last stand free download
